Mindfulness in Child Psychotherapy and Education Training

Hello,

 

Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Prevention and Early Intervention Services in partnership with the Stanislaus Mindfulness Collaborative and the Marin Mindfulness Institute are bringing a year-long professional training for therapists and educators to teach Mindfulness to Youth.   

 

The training will begin with a daylong workshop, Mindfulness in Child Psychotherapy and Education, on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Stanislaus County. The daylong workshop is open to anyone and is free but donations will be accepted for the Mindfulness Scholarship Fund. The daylong is being funded by BHRS Prevention and Early Intervention. Certification in Mindfulness and Child Development

The cost for the certification and yearlong training is $2200.00 which begins with the daylong on May 17th and continues on every third Saturday of the month for 10 additional months. In order to participate in the yearlong training, you will need to complete the attached application and a phone interview. Send your application to admin@mindfulness-education.org. The yearlong program will be limited to a small group of individuals in order to provide the best environment for learning, dialogue and application of practice among the group. Limited Stipends Available:

Marin Mindfulness will be offering 4 stipends of $1000 for individuals who satisfactorily complete the 10 month Marin Mindfulness Institute Professional Certification Program in Mindfulness and Child Development.

 

Qualifying requirements:

·         Applicants must practice in Stanislaus County

·         Applicants must be working with low income or at risk youth

·         Applicants must have experience working with children and have prior experience with mindfulness practice

·         Applicants must be accepted into the Certification program in order to be eligible for a stipend

·         Applicants will sign an agreement to complete all requirements of the certification program

Catholic Charities Mother Lode Office is seeking a master’s level clinician to be part of a five-year research project on depression in the elderly. The position includes providing a form of brief therapy (Problem Solving Therapy) to the elderly in their homes and also supervising senior peer counselors who will be supporting clients in a form of self-therapy. *Looking for someone with clinical experience in Calaveras County*. The position is 30 hrs/week; pay is hourly; and full health, vision, and dental benefits are included. Preference given for LMFT or LCSW, but interns and associates are welcome to apply.
